5 - The series number. This can be 3, 5, 7 or 8 (explained later). These respectively indicate that the TV is from the LE3, LE5, LE7 or LE8 series of LG LED TVs.

300 - The final three numbers allow TVs within a particular series to be differentiated, on the basis of slightly differing features or specifications.

Please note that the LG 42SL9000 and LG 47SL9000 are LED TVs from LG's 2009 range. They are currently being phased out and do not conform to the above model number template, although are still available at some retailers.

LG LE3 Series LED TVs
