Buy a cheap Samsung LED TV for the best price at LED TV Prices
Samsung was the first manufacturer on the market to offer consumer LED TVs, and currently has the biggest range to choose from. Here's our guide to the Samsung range of LED TVs, and a few tips to help you pick the right Samsung LED TV for you.
Samsung LED TV Model Numbers
Each Samsung LED TV on the market has a unique model number (e.g. UE32B6000). Using UE40B7000 as an example, this can be interpreted as follows:
UE - The region code. UE shows the TV is a European model, whereas UN shows the TV is an American model.
40 - The next two numbers indicate the screen size in inches. This can be 19, 22, 26, 32, 37, 40, 46, 55 or even 65. In this case, the screen size is 40 inches.
B - B refers to the 2009 LED TV models, whilst C indicates the set is a 2010 model.
7 - The series number, which can be 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8. These respectively indicate that the TV is from the 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 series of Samsung LED TVs.
000 - The final three numbers finish the model number and give more information about the features and specification offered by that LED TV.
2010 Models
All 2010 Samsung LED TV models are indicated by a C in their model number.
Samsung 4 Series LED TVs
The Samsung 4 Series is indicated by a 4000 or 4010 at the end of the model number. This is the lowest priced range of new 2010 Samsung LED TVs - although cheap they offer fantastic value for money, allowing you to pick up a piece of cutting-edge LED TV technology without breaking the bank. Currently only smaller screen sizes feature in the 4 Series.
At the moment the 4010 is only available in a screen size of 22 inches. All 4000 models are black, whilst the 4010 model is white.
Samsung 4 Series LED TVs typically offer two HDMI ports, a scart socket and USB port. They also have a built in Freeview tuner, so there's no need for an additional set-top box. However unlike other Samsung series, the 4 Series TVs are not Full HD (1920x1080p) but instead have an HD resolution of 1366x768.

Samsung 5 Series LED TVs
The Samsung 5 Series is indicated by a 5100 or 5800 at the end of the model number. Slightly more expensive than the 4 Series, these mid-range LED TVs provide a better specification and more features for your money. Larger screen sizes are also available in the 5 Series.
The difference between the 5100 and 5800 models are as follows:
5100 - These models feature a built-in Freeview tuner, allowing you to watch free-to-view digital TV channels in standard definition through your existing TV aerial.
5800 - These models feature a built-in Freeview HD tuner, allowing you to watch free-to-view digital TV channels. You will be able to view standard definition channels such as BBC One and ITV1, but also take advantage of the HD channels coming to Freeview during the digital switchover, including BBC HD and ITV HD. Some regions will not be able to receive HD until after the switchover - for more information and to check coverage in your area, visit the Freeview website.
Samsung 5 Series LED TVs typically offer four HDMI ports, a scart socket and USB port. In contrast to the 4 Series, the 5 Series LED TVs are Full HD (1920x1080p) and offer a refresh rate of 50Hz. If you wish to take full advantage of the HD capability offered by the 5 Series LED TV, we recommend spending the little bit extra to purchase a 5800 LED TV with built-in Freeview HD.

Some regions will not be able to receive HD until after the switchover - for more information and to check coverage in your area, visit the Freeview website. The 6530 models have a classy dark brushed steel surround.
6620 - These models feature a built-in Freeview HD tuner allowing you to take advantage of the full HD LED screen, and also have an exclusive brown 'wood grain' effect surround, making these LED TVs really stand out against the crowd.
Although all the LED TVs in the 6 Series are highly recommendable, if you wish to take full advantage of the HD capability offered by the 6 Series LED TVs, we recommend spending the little bit extra to purchase a 6505, 6530 or 6620 LED TV with built-in Freeview HD.

2009 Models
All 2009 Samsung LED TV models are indicated by a B in their model number. They are being slowly phased out, although are still available to buy at some retailers.
Samsung 6 Series LED TVs
The Samsung 6 Series is indicated by a 6000 at the end of the model number. This is the lowest priced range of Samsung LED TVs - the entry-level series for those who'd love to have an LED TV but can't afford to splash out. Whilst there is a bit of a sacrifice in specification, these TVs offer great value for money, whilst providing the same latest LED technology seen in the higher Samsung series.
Samsung 6 Series LED TVs typically offer a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, a refresh rate of 100Hz, and only a single USB port. They also do not feature the Medi@2.0 technology, which allows you to access widgets and internet content on your TV.

Samsung 7 Series LED TVs
The Samsung 7 Series is indicated by a 7000 or 7020 at the end of the model number. This is the middle range of Samsung LED TVs, and typically the most popular choice for buyers. Although a little more expensive than the 6 Series, the 7 Series offers an improved specification and offers a more feature-rich LED television.
Unlike the 6 Series and 8 Series, the 7 Series is divided into two groups. The differences between 7000 and 7020 Samsung LED TVs are only aesthetic, and are as follows:
7000 - These models are exclusive to the DSGi group, so can only be bought at Dixons, Currys, PC World and online retailer Pixmania. Instead of the Platinum Black colour of the 7020 TVs, this group of LED TVs has a Rose Black tint.
7020 - These models are found at all other retailers. The only difference is in aesthetic design, with this group having a Platinum Black colour as opposed to the 7000's Rose Black. All other aspects of the specification (refresh rate, contrast ratio, etc) are exactly the same for the two groups.
Samsung 7 Series LED TVs typically offer a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, a refresh rate of 100Hz, and two USB ports. This series is the lowest to feature the Medi@2.0 technology, allowing you to view live news and weather, download new content, wirelessly stream photos from computers and phones, and even use Twitter from your TV.

Samsung 8 Series LED TVs offer a higher contrast ratio and twice as fast refresh rate than all other Samsung Series, allowing for a fantastic, beautifully smooth picture.
Samsung 8 Series LED TVs typically offer a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, a refresh rate of 200Hz, and two USB ports.
